HOTPOT
If you’re looking for an all-you-can-eat hotpot restaurant with free flow of beer, quality ingredients, and a boisterous atmosphere, then congratulations! You’ve found it: Garden Restaurant.
Located close to Temple Street Night Market , on the Tin Hau Temple side right off Nathan Road ; you can’t miss the neon lights (but might have to ask, as the sign is in Chinese).
The entrance is fairly peasant, reminiscent of Mainland China, with an enormous fish tank. Go up the stairs to your left to get to the main dining room, but you will most likely hear it from downstairs, as the crowd is largely comprised of rowdy mainland Chinese, drinking, dipping, and debating. For hotpot, this is absolutely perfect!
Unlike many all-you-can-eat places, Garden Restaurant uses very high quality ingredients. The beef is thick sliced, and marbled, and the vegetables and seafood are amazingly fresh. Options for soup base range from mild Cantonese pork, to super spicy, traditional Szechuan.
Also unique are the range of ingredients for dipping sauces, which are lined up in a full bar. Sauces, powders, and ingredients are kept fresh and clean, being replaced and refilled frequently.
This place does not close until 3:00AM, the perfect substitute for fast food if you need to eat late (like after shopping at Temple Street !)
