There’s truth to the saying that there is a kid in all of us. This may be the reason why a lot of us have hearts attached to Disney characters. As we grow old though, pictures and videos of them seem not enough for us to reveal our little kid inside. Thankfully, there is Hong Kong Disneyland. Hong Kong Disneyland started its magic on September 12, 2005 fulfilling our dreams of fantasy and adventure. It can be found within the complex of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on reclaimed land in Lantau Island. It is a place that promises happiness to children and adults alike. It features several classical sights straight out from our storybooks such as Sleeping Beauty Castle, Cinderella’s Carousel, and photography opportunities with Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Tinkerbelle, Pluto, Daisy, and other famous characters. Moreover, the park also hosts parade performances such as “Disney on Parade” and “Disney in the Stars”. A nightly fireworks display lit up the park’s sky. The Hong Kong Disneyland houses four themed sections each having their own entertainment attractions, shows and events: Main Street U.S.A. - features the Main Street Vehicles, Art of Animation, Muppet Mobile Lab, Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad, Main Street Entertainment, Main Street City Hall, and the Flights of Fantasy Parade Adventureland - features the Jungle River Cruise, Tarzan’s Treehouse, Tarzan Island, Liki Tikis, and Festival of the Lion King Fantasyland - features It’s A Small World, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, The Golden Mickeys at Disney’s Storybook Theater, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mad Hatter Tea Cups, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Snow White Grotto, Fantasy Gardens and the Fantasyland Railroad Station Tomorrowland - features Space Mountain, Orbitron, UFO Zone, Stitch Encounter, Autopia, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
The park is dotted with many food and refreshments stalls so that you’ll always feel have energy to explore. Note that Hong Kong Disneyland caters to Hong Kong locals and foreigners alike by having signs and other communications written and spoken in Chinese and English.
