Best Museums and Galleries in Hong Kong
Local Recommendations from our My Guide Hong Kong team
A variety of museums and galleries having different themes welcomes tourists aiming to get to know Hong Kong's fascinating history and culture. What's unique about Hong Kong's museums is that most of them are innovative and interactive.
Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of History, and Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum are just few of what you can explore. You can save money by purchasing the Museum Pass for HK$30 (US$3.90/£1.95), valid for a week and available at any of the participating museums or Hong Kong Tourism Board Visitor Information and Services Centres. Note however, that museum admissions are free on Wednesdays. Keep in mind, too, that municipal museums are closed December 25 and 26, January 1, and the first 3 days of the Chinese New Year. Private museums are usually also closed on bank holidays. Go to a museum after visiting Sky100 or after trying out local dishes in Cantonese restaurants.
