Hong Kong Wetland Park, located in the New Territories, host themed exhibitions in its Wetland Interactive World, and features its Wetland Reserve having both education and tourism value.
Wetland Interactive World is consists of five exhibition galleries (which all showcase the importance of wetlands on biodiversity, civilization and conservation), an indoor play area, resource center, as well as a dining room and a souvenir shop.
The Wetland Reserve serves as a habitat or waterfowl and other wildlife. You can enjoy a close view of different species of fish, water birds and other wild animals.
Travel information: Opening Hours: 10am -5pm during Mondays, and Wednesdays to Sundays (Closed on Tuesdays except during Public Holidays and the first 2 days of Chinese New Year.
Tickets: HK$30 for adults; HK$15 for children, seniors and persons with disabilities
How to get there:
By MTR : Take the MTR (West Rail Line) to Tin Shui Wah Station then transfer to Light Rail. Take Tin Shui Wai circular service 705 or 706 to Wetland Park Light Rail Station.
By bus : Ride Express Bus 967 from Admiralty Bus Station on Hong Kong Island. Travel time is around an hour.
Should you get hungry doing your share in protecting the environment, there are lots of seafood restaurants in the New Territories. Nearby attractions are the hiking trails and traditional villages of New Territories. From this peninsula, you can also go to other islands through island hopping by ferry.
