Island Hopping
Laid back and mellow are some words to describe Lamma Island. Covering only 13 square meters, Lamma Island only has around 5,000 residents. It is dense with forest which is why it's another seamless place to relax. The absence of cars - which are prohibited in the island - and absence of big shopping malls and markets make the island more calming.
The fine beaches here are the perfect setting for enjoying al fresco dining care of Lamma's seafood restaurants after swimming.
Should you visit this place for reasons more than resting, hiking a family trail will let you see the two largest villages namely Yung Shue wan and Sok Kwu Wan. This trail is relatively easy to follow because it is along concrete paths. You will pass through some seafood restaurants and small shops on the way and it will take you around an hour or more to complete the trail.
To reach Lamma, ride the ferry from Central's Pier 4, in front of Two IFC
, to the village of Sok Kwu Wan or to Yung Shue Wan. It takes about 25 minutes.
