Located in New Territories - the region known for having the finest and diverse countryside - MacLehose Trail is 100 kilometers long and has 10 sections in total, with a range of 5-16 kilometers per section.
Truly a venue where one can seek the adventure of sustained hiking, it runs through eight country parks namely Sai Kung East Country Park, Sai Kung West Country Park, ma On Shan Country Park, Lion Rock Country Park, Kam Shan Country Park, Shing Mun Country Park, Tai Mo Shan Country Park, and Tai Lam Country Park.
MacLehose Trail is easy to moderate to hike because there are surface roads, and hillside roads are well signposted. Distance posts are found every 500m intervals.
How to get there: To reach Tsak Yue We, take the MTR to Hang Hau then exit through B1. Ride Minibus 101M to Sai Kung Town. From Sai Kung Town, take Bus 94 to the country park. Note that the starting points of the trail is still a few distance away from transport drop-off points.
